| Description of the problem | This is regarding a 2009 yamaha zuma 125 scooter. There has been a widespread issue with the fuel pumps on these bikes and mine finally broke down the other day. The issue is that if the outside temperature is hot enough it causes the fuel pump to completely fail. Luckily mine stopped working with the bike stationary, however it is common to happen while the bike is moving which causes a completely dangerous situation. When the fuel pump fails it immediately cuts fuel pressure and the motorcycle will turn off immediately. This could cause a crash if it were to happen while going around a turn. Yamaha is aware of this problem, but has not issued a recall and does not care to do anything about it. This is absolutely unacceptable. |
