Description of the problem	For the last couple of years, we have experienced our vehicle locking up, shutting off in mid-drive and sometimes losing breaks up to 4 times a day. We have had it looked at and diagnosed and the computers do not record these events. This is a known problem with these vehicles, however, my vin doesn't qualify to have any parts replaced. I recently contacted vw via telephone because my car jerked very hard to the left, luckily, nobody was coming the opposite direction. I was told to take it to the nearest dealership (an hour away) and that all costs would be mine. I have two small boys. It's currently at a dealership after being towed for two hours and i will have to come out of pocket to fix this very dangerous known malfunction.
