Description of the problem	I recently purchased a used 2010 vw routan sel. Within the first week i had the following problems. About every other day the car would not start when turning the key. I would have to wait about 15 minutes before the car would start again. The key would get stuck and not pull out. The security system would activate or deactivate and beep without pressing any button on the key. I was also locked out for 15 minutes when i couldn't get the unlock button to work on the key. It would just keep locking itself. I took it to a vw dealership who informed me that it was a well-known tipm problem and that it need to be replaced for 1100 usd. However, replacement would not gaurantee any fixes and it could actually cause other mechanical problems to arise. They also told me that this was the reason why the routan was discontinued.
