Description of the problem	While driving on a highway the glass sunroof just exploded. It sent glass flying but it did not hit any cars behind me. There were no overpasses whereby someone could have thrown an object to break the glass. My wife and i were not injured because, thankfully, the inside cover was not open or we would have been severely injured as we were amazed at the sharp pieces that stayed on the inside of he sunroof. They were like daggers and could not believe that volkswagen would not use safety glass. Volkswagen repaired the sunroof without any charge but insisted there was no problems reported about this. Obviously, this was strange because why would they fix this if nothing was wrong because it was a very expensive part to replace and it wasn't just the glass. Just last night on nbc news they had a story about sunroofs exploding in the same manner as mine and again, fortunately, the people had the inside cover over the sunroof so they were not injured by the flying glass. Hopefully, something can be done before someone gets injured or worse, killed. In my case i won't open the cover under any circumstances.
