Description of the problem	Tl* the contact owns a 2012 volkswagen cc. While driving uphill at approximately 65 mph and attempting to pass another vehicle, the contact's vehicle lost acceleration and the epc warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was pulled over to the side of the road and the engine was turned off. When the vehicle was restarted, the check engine indicator illuminated. The vehicle was coasted to a service station and towed to an independent mechanic (josho auto, 10945 randolph, costa mesa, ca 92626, 714-557-2601) where the vehicle was kept for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. Also, approximately one year ago, the front passenger side of the vehicle was crashed into by another vehicle. None of the air bags deployed. A police report was filed. The contact sustained injuries that required medical attention. The vehicle was towed to a body shop (pacific elite auto body shop in costa mesa ca) and repaired by the insurance company. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The contact recently searched the vin and found nhtsa campaign number: 16v078000 (air bags). The failure mileage was approximately 62,000. Parts distribution disconnect.
