Description of the problem | Driving on the highway in morning rush-hour traffic, the transmission unexpectedly downshifted to 2nd gear and the gear indicator began blinking. This caused rapid deceleration from highway speed down to 30-40 mph. I was fortunately able to maneuver away from traffic. Dealer diagnosed leaking rear main seal, bad pcv valve and a catastrophic mechanical failure of the transmission. |
