Description of the problem	When turning corners, check engine light would flash on and engine would sometimes misfire. I took it in to the vw dealership to look at it for the second time. They performed diagnostics and then went to pull the vehicle out of shop and it would not start. They determined the timing chain slipped. Thankful that this did not happen while driving as it would have been very dangerous. The dealership must dismantle the engine to determine root cause and price for proper repairs, which they are estimating as $2,000 to $5,000 - which is more than the car is worth. We took great care of this car including servicing as recommended. It had 150k miles, but we should have been able to drive this car for many more miles. Vw should have issued a bulletin for servicing this known issue and we would not have been forced to buy a new vehicle, moreover, they should have issued a recall as this could be fatal if it went out while driving.
