Description of the problem	Ran over something on the highway in yaris rental car. The fuel tank was punctured / or ruptured as there was a long crack in it and fuel poured out. Luckily i was able to pull off highway to a gas station (~ 1/4 - 1/2 mi) where i parked and we exited car. Additional fuel ran out quickly (gallons?). Reporting because of fuel tank / safety issue.
