Description of the problem	The intrinsic trailer brake controller did not work properly. The gain could not be set initially. The dealership computer system could not detect the problem. The only way the problem was recognized was by attaching a trailer or a trailer simulator to the truck. The dealership noted that all the 2018 tundra trucks on their lot had the same problem. This is a serious problem that could lead to accidents if the driver is not aware that the trailer braking system is not working. We were persistent and the dealership did replace the controller with one that did work. However, this controller could not be ordered from toyota, but only from the supplier that makes them for toyota. After our truck was affected, we found many reports of the same problem on this truck. This problem was detected immediately after we purchased the truck by the technician who installed the gooseneck hitch.
