 Description of the problemTl* the contact owns a 2009 toyota tundra double cab sr5. The contact stated that the transmission was not shifting properly and when attempting to accelerate, the vehicle would independently downshift to 1st gear. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where they added transmission fluid but the failure was not corrected. The vehicle was then taken to a second dealer who stated that there was too much transmission fluid in the vehicle and advised the contact to replace the transmission. The current mileage was 31,324 and the failure mileage was 30,000. Updated 8/30/11 *cn the consumer stated when depressing the gas pedal at approximately 10 mph. The engine revved up but the vehicle failed to accelerate for 6-7 seconds as the transmission searched for the correct gear. Updated 10/03/11
