| Description of the problem | Airbag light goes on and off, took it to the toyota dealer as the owner manual indicates. Diagnose code b1801 open spiral cable part# 155740. When the light is on the air system is disabled and will not deploy if in an accident. When researching if this is common or not, there are a lot of tundra owners with the same problem. This spiral cable is either a defective part toyota used or a design flaw therefore should be recalled and fixed. Toyota dealer wants over 750 dollars to replace the spiral cable. Since it goes on and off, toyota owners will have to be lucky if they get into an accident and hope the light is off at the time so the airbags will work. |
