| Description of the problem | 2 air induction pumps (aip) and associated values failure around 60k miles. According to toyota the reason for the failure is moisture. New pumps and valves can be installed for $4000 or if you are lucky and you only need to replace one pump and both valves it only cost $2150. The new pumps and values have been modified so they should not failure as fast as originals. If the new pumps and valves had to be "modified" then it leads one to believe the originals had a design flaw. |
