Description of the problemMalfunctioning brake sensors on 2005 tundra uses abs to override driver's braking below 10 mph. The defect is that "abs" light does not appear on dash to inform the driver that he does not have full braking authority over the vehicle when the abs kicks in. The toyota dealer had damaged the brake sensor while replacing the rear axle bearings. I drove the service manager to witness the loss of braking control. The brake sensor was replaced and problems solved. Back to the problem. I over shot a stop line by a few feet in heavy traffic. Luckily, i was the first one at the red traffic light. It sounded like the abs kicked in, but abs light did not illuminate. I thought the braking system was recalibrating itself (who knows how all these onboard computers operate these days), but the abs was kicking in.
