| Description of the problem | Power rear hatch goes up with difficulty, then stops and drops several inches and then powers down. Will not stay up. Toyota put out a special service campaign [recall] 80c in 2008 for this very same problem for 2004 thru 2006 models. They addressed it as a safety problem. The repair was to replace the struts and brackets. My strut p/n is 68905-ae013 which has now substitutes to 68905-ae015. I contacted toyota headquarters customer service to make a report and was told there is no ssc for my model. |
