| Description of the problem | I currently have a 2007 toyota sienna with 130k miles. My car is good condition and has been very reliable over the last several years. Recently both the drivers and passenger sliding doors stopped working and the wire that is part of the door mechanism popped and is now hanging from the back windows. I am at this time unable to open either door and there is no way to manually open the doors. I have children and they are having to climb from the front to the read. There was no indicator that this was becoming an issue. It as if toyota was aware of this problem, however they are not addressing it without charging outrageous prices. The dealer claimed wear and term, however my door may be opened and closed 1 to 2 times per day, if that. The response was very nonchalant as if was not a big deal. I am very disappointed in the issue and more disappointed in the response from my dealer, whom i have been dealing with since 1997. Toyota really needs to address this issue. This is not only a mechanical malfunction, it is a safety issue. |
