| Description of the problem | I own a 2006 fwd toyota sienna. The driver side door check strap weld is defective. There is a crack in the weld which causes a popping noise when door is opened and closed. I asked toyota to look at it and they wanted $140 just to access problem. A local mechanic showed me what the problem is. I did research and found that this was a known issue by toyota. Toyota sent out extended warranties but i never received one. They also gave their mechanics a (tbs) technical service bulletin (nvoo3-07) which i found online to make the repair. I have received all other extended warranty letters. Unfortunately, the extended warranty has expired and now i have to pay for the repair which will cost $470. I |
