| Description of the problem | Problem is with the second row seat belts in my 2006 toyota sienna xle van. Anytime someone (myself included) rides in the second row, the seat belts lock up and become so uncomfortable as they continue to tighten that we just end up not using them soon after the trip begins. Not using them because of this defect poses a real safety hazard if we were to have an accident. Earlier on i complained several times. I was always told there is nothing wrong with them. We probably weren't using them correctly and i was even given instruction by the service department on how to hook up the seat belt. My complaints fell on deaf ears and i really do think it is a safety hazard. I told them they might have to ride it longer than the few minutes they did. I'm not so sure this problem is about my sienna only. When i ride in the back seat of other vehicles the seat belt seems to tighten. If i had to guess, i'd say they don't put the same quality seat belt in the back of a vehicle as they do the front seats just because they would cost more. Anything you could do to remedy this situation would be greatly appreciated. Since this happens any time someone is in the back seat, i am picking a random incident date. |
