Description of the problem	The airbag warning light on my toyota sienna illuminated when the car had about 60,000 miles on it, well before the expiration of toyota's extended warranty. Two local dealerships told me that it was a wiring harness problem and would cost somewhere between $2000 and $3000 to fix, as it was not covered by the warranty. Fortunately, the light went off after a short time. Now with about 90,000 miles on the car, it has come back on. A quick internet search has revealed literally hundreds of complaints of this same failure, many of which are occurring with very few miles on the car. I cannot imagine why toyota has not issued a safety recall. Beyond that, i cannot fathom why nhtsa hasn't yet demanded one. This is clearly a defective design and toyota is not being held accountable for it. Please do something about this. Just do an internet search for 2006 sienna airbag complaint. You will be shocked at the number and consistency of complaints about this problem.
