Description of the problem	The driver's and passenger's front seat air bags both failed. There was no accident or impact. The only indication of a problem was the illuminated air bag indicator warning light in the instrument cluster. Both air bags required replacement at a cost to the owner of $1,273. Toyota denied any responsibility and required the owner to pay the entire $1,273 charge. After the owner contacted toyota national customer relations, a $500 toyota merchandise credit was offered, which the owner is unlikely to use due to the owner's reluctance to purchase any toyota product in the future.
