Description of the problem	The door check on the driver side failed. Toyota (local dealer and headquarters) denied it was the door check (a known manufacturing defect) and gave me an estimate of over $1500 to repair the defect. I took the vehicle to a reputable body shop to look at the door and they confirmed the damage was caused by a faulty door check. The body shop did repair the defect, which as i understand it, if not repaired can allow the door to swing freely. Toyota did not correct or acknowledge the faulty door check on this 2005 awd sienna.
