| Description of the problem | Driver door spot weld failure. Driver door makes a loud popping sound. It has been about a year since the problem began and now is difficult to open/close. A year ago, the dealer told me they didn't know anything about it. Yet when i checked online, i learned this is a common failure. Toyota extended the warranty rather than do a recall, however the warranty did not extend far enough to cover most of the problems including mine. Toyota also did nothing to notify me of the problem and the dealer told me he didn't know of the problem long after toyota acknowledged the defect. The problem is solely due to a manufacturing defect and toyota should fix their defect. *js |
