Description of the problem	Tl*the contact owns a 2004 toyota sienna. While the vehicle was stationary, the contact and a child opened the front driver's side door from the exterior of the vehicle. Suddenly, the door closed abruptly. The child was struck while in the pathway of the door, but was not injured. The contact heard a clunking noise coming from the door prior to the failure on several occasions. Whenever the front driver's side door was accessed, the failure would occur. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for inspection and they provided a referral to an auto body shop for repair. The technician stated that the failure was contributed to failed welds.
