| Description of the problem | Brake light indicator intermittently came on over several months (jan - may 2011) and at various speeds. Sometimes at startup, other times at hwy speed. Since fluid was full and clean, did not take car in right away. Mentioned to dealer at 60k mi. Svc to diagnose. Toyota dealer diagnosed the source of the problem was a malfunctioning "electronic skid computer." cost $122 to diagnose and $1120 to replace. I understand this computer controls the stability control and abs systems, so it is a potential safety hazard. |
