| Description of the problem | For the past 4 years, our sequoia has had problems with the brake warning light coming on as well as the traction control warning light. The only way to turn off the light is to turn off the car. Once every 3 months or so, it sounds as if the traction control/abs is turning on and a loud grinding is heard and it feels like there is a temporary loss in braking power. Toyota has charged me thousands of dollars to replace bearings, brake cylinders, etc. None of these repairs have worked. They told me the last time that the next fix is a replacement of the esc computer. Searching online and through nhtsa complaints, this is a common problem and clearly a design flaw in the computer and it should be a part of a recall. *js |
