| Description of the problem | Our scion xa was involved in a accident resulting to injuries to the driver. The vehicle was running, but in park when it was hit in the driver's front side. The impact of the collision pushed the vehicle into a parked van which then did serious damage to the front and passenger side of the car. The driver's head broke the windshield and resulted in dental, facial injuries. A concussion and back injuries. Neither air bag deployed even when both driver and passenger were seat belted in the front seats. A call to scion on the 14th was not returned until today when i made a follow up call. I was told the air bags were not designed to deploy unless the vehicle was traveling a certain speed. I think that is a terrible design. |
