Description of the problem	Letter from constituent regarding as issue with her toyota 2010 rav 4 - 4cyl and fordham toyota service and parts center; she thinks the vehicle should be inspected, the matter should be investigated and provided and appropriate remedy. *smd the consumer and her husband took the vehicle to the dealer for a brake inspection. The dealer inspected the vehicle, and stated the front brake pads needed to be replaced. They replaced the front pads and resurfaced the rotors. The consumer stated after retrieving the vehicle from the dealer, her husband then took possession of the vehicle. As her husband was driving, he heard a cracking sound coming from under the vehicle, and all of a sudden, when he applied the brake pedal, the brakes did not respond. Her husband was a able to maneuver the vehicle and brought it to a stop. Once he exited the vehicle, the consumer discovered a brake pad behind the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the dealer. An inspection revealed a bolt holding the brake pad had cracked.
