| Description of the problem | began experiencing a distinctive clunking noise, at low speeds, while turning the steering wheel. The clunk could be felt in the steering wheel and felt as though a bushing was defective, or their is excessive play in the steering assembly. No noise from the front end, or undercarriage, just at the steering wheel, when turning, at low speeds. Toyota states that this is a common problem and that they have developed a part replacement, however, i feel that it is definitely a safety issue, which could become fatal, at highway speeds. Should be elevated to a recall status, as it involves the steering assembly. |
