| Description of the problem | Total engine failure at 115,000 miles due to excessive oil consumption. Burned through 4 quarts of oil in less than 3 weeks time. Need a new engine or engine rebuild. Will be $4,000 to fix. Toyota is aware of the issue and had issued enhanced warranties for vehicle n the past. We purchased the vehicle in 2015 after notifications had been sent. Issue often becomes apparent around 100,000 miles according to research. Calls with toyota have been unsuccessful at any sort of recourse for this. Toyota customer service rep claims to receive multiple calls per week on this issue. Our engine failed on a major interstate. While traveling 60 miles per hour. |
