Description of the problem	This is an ongoing issue of excessive oil consumption. It has been an issue since my vehicle was purchase new. I noticed that i had to get my oil changed every 3000 miles and could not make it to 5000 miles as recommended by my mechanic for oil changes. This has gotten worse as my car has aged. I now run out of oil (oil indicator light comes on and not a drop on the dipstick) every 1200-1300 miles. I have to carry quarts of oil in my car all the time to be sure i don't get stuck with a seized engine and i need to top off my oil at least twice in between 3000 mile oil changes. I have spoken with other rav owners as well as my oil change establishment and i understand this is a common and known issue for ravs. Toyota needs to address this.
