Description of the problem | Takata recall - received recall notice in spring '15, never received update on remedy. Checked with dealer in oct. '15, told parts still not available. Called dealer today (jan. 9, 2016), was given no information. Called toyota national office, told parts were ready in december for remedy. National office called my dealer (continental toyota, countryside, il, 708-354-5800) to make appointment for remedy. In recall notice, it states to contact you if toyota has failed to remedy the defect within a reasonable time. Have had to cram my wife and two teenage children in the backseat for at least 6 months as we warned not to operate vehicle with occupant in front passenger seat. Finally have appointment for monday, jan. 11, 2016 |
