Description of the problem | The fender in the engine bay is not completely sealed. Water is welling from the front wheels into the engine bay through the opening of the fender. The top cover of front shock absorbers in the engine bay is not sealed either. Evident water is welling through there, too. I'm not driving on any dirty road. Just really common highway to and back from work, 20 minutes' drive. Yes it rains, but never cause any problem on the road. It's making the engine bay dirty. Also, it could damage the engine, or shortcut any wire. It could be normal to get dirty, but this poor design is no good. The fender should be sealed to resist water. That's why it's called fender. We have a post on toyota nation forum. It seems that it's a common problem to all 8th generation camry. Anyone, please take a look. It has very detailed description about what's happening. I've visited the service center. They just said 'it's normal to get water in from the bottom'. Apparently the problem is not the bottom. We got news, that in china, toyota has already offered a free patchwork to all 8th generation camry, to seal the openings. The 2018 camry model is universal the same, same design, same problem. I hope we could get the same patchwork. They have to fix their poor design. |
