Description of the problem	1. On entering freeway, car did not respond to accelerator, & seemed to lose power momentarily. Then seemed to engage, accelerating. 2. On freeway, gas pedal became spongy, car coasted for a couple hundred feet, then pedal engaged, car accelerated. Occurred three, 3, times, different trips. 3. On turning right, on city street, engine started to run rough as tho it would stall. Worked itself out and continued w/o further trouble. 4. On two occasions, engine ran roughly when turning it on in front of the house. Weather was warm, not a factor. Ran smoothly after a block. Gas pedal again felt spongy while car ran rough. Dealer has stated that (1) "try using name brand gas" (tried; no change), (2) for probs 1 & 2 above, "it must be the new transmission." now received fuel pump recall notice, but toyota has "no remedy available"?! This is unsafe - pease help!!
