Description of the problem	The speedometer and odometer on the camry are grossly inaccurate. During a recent road trip upon a odometer speedometer checkpoint used by interstate truck drivers of which i am one the vehicle revealed that it calibrates one mile at 4900 feet. Toyota was notified about this on three separate service occasions and they have failed to correct this deficiency. As it turns out the toyota camry is the most rented mid-sized car in north america which means that there is considerable overcharging of miles. This deficiency also causes significant overcharging of insurance rates and premature wear of privately owned vehicles. The speedometer has been cross checked against gps and tomtom navigation systems and revealed itself to be at least 16 miles per hour off at highway speed on five separate occasions.. The cars over reporting of speed, and milage indicates false epa milage estimates. Toyota has not discovered access in repairing this error.
