Description of the problemA rattle or popping noise coming from the moonroof above front passenger seat. On 2/7/13 a repair was made and was told that welding debris was found on a contact point in the moonroof. Repair stated that the moonroof mountings were cleaned and the moonroof was re-torqued. After the repair we heard a creaking sound on occasion when making turns and on rough roads but didn't feel it was bad enough to take back for repair. Now a year later on 3/3/14, the noise has returned and took it in again for repair. Was told that plastic shims had to be ordered and that they would call when they come in. I'll take my car in again when the parts arrive and let the service department re-attempt to make the repair again. This is a known problem with all 2012 toyota camry's. If you google moonroof popping or rattling on 2012 toyota camry's, you'll find that this is a recurring problem that toyota is having with their moonroof. Hopefully, the next repair resolves this problem.
