Description of the problem	Customer by css web (08/20/2019 12:23 pm) my 2010 camry dashboard has melted to an uncleanable tarlike sticky substance. I need help because it reflects on my windshield and i cannot see through it. I have to bend sideways to see around it to drive. Please email me how i can clean my dashboard. Question reference # 190820-000288 date created: 08/20/2019 12:23 pm ct on may 1, 2014, my 2010 camry dashboard started looking greasy and shiny. I did the best i could to clean it with several different car cleaning solutions, which at the time did help. I tried pure rubbing alcohol. I even tried a vinegar and water solution. I also took my car to be washed and detailed. I was informed that they could not get the sticky solution off and that i needed to take it to a toyota dealer., when i took it to the toyota dealer, i was informed that i had just missed the extended repair date and to contact toyota, so on august 20, 2019. I contacted toyota. Com and was informed that i had missed the extended repair end date and that i can pay my toyota dealer to replace my dashboard myself.. I never received a notice from toyota about the extended date or any recall notice about this issue. They said they sent them out and if i did not receive it, they could not do anything about it now. They told me this on a phone call to me. They would not even put their response in writing. I truly believe toyota is responsible for this repair, so i think other toyota owners should be notified.
