| Description of the problem | Abs & brake light comes on randomly while driving my 2008 camry. When this happens, speedometer drops to 0 and a/c is shut off. I took it to a toyota dealer to check the problem. They diagnosed it as an abs actuator problem and quoted $2500 for replacement. I surfed internet and found that 2007-2011 camry hybrids had exact same problem covered by toyota using warranty extension. However, this is not covered. I called toyota customer service and they said my vin number is not in the range so it will not be covered. Failure to fix this part is going to be a safety concern because it can lead to brake failure. Case # opened with toyota is [xxx]. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6). |
