| Description of the problem | I own a 2007 toyota camry that is not covered under their pedal recall because it has a vin # that begins with a j. However, we have experience one unexpected engine acceleration and are nervous about the safety of the car. The incident was this past february 14, 2009.. My husband was driving the car with two business client as passengers. As he was driving on the fdr drive in manhattan, the car accelerated unexpectedly for approximately 15 seconds. The incident was noticed by all. I have been using this vehicle, but have recently begun using my parents car as i hesitate to drive my children in a car that might do this again. I have expressed my concerns to toyota, but have only received a stock e-mail response thanking me for my communication. |
