Description of the problemToyota camry accelerator pedal fix not acceptable... Way too small pedal after being cut having just received my recall notices i quickly made my appointment to complete all three (3) toyota recalls for my 2007 camry. Prior to dropping my camry off at queensboro toyota i performed my "due diligence" and research the possibility of having part number 15772-31030 used for recall #ssc-90k. Google and bing researches clearly alluded to using part number 15772-31030 which is a 1-piece solid metal tube versus the trouble prone 3-piece 04009-33131 used by the dealer. I requested part number 15772-31030 be used to effect the repair and even offered to pay for the part out of my own pocket. My concern is this is my first toyota vehicle having decided to wean myself off domestically made vehicles due to a perceived quality lacking in domestically manufacturer's vehicles. I even reluctantly purchased a 7-yr 100k toyota extended warranty for peace of mind having had terrible experiences with toyota vehicles in the early 1970's. I am not happy having had to settle for the same problem prone part for recall ssc-90k and believe this is toyota's way of delaying a proper viable oil line fix until my warranty runs out in which case it will be on "my dime" to fixed an already inevitable repair once again. I am also not too thrilled with also having my accelerator pedal "cut" and i already find my foot slipping off the accelerator pedal as i accelerate or let off the gas when i drive. My wife refuses to drive or be driven around in this 2007 camry due to her belief it is a time bomb waiting to once again manifest unintended acceleration issues. My immediate concern is toyota "cheaped out" using the same oil leaking prone part just to save labor costs versus using a 1-piece solid metal oil tube which is now in all the 2009 and 2010 camry's.... Please do not insult me by stating the 3-piece oil line is "just as good" as a solid 1-piece metal oil line.
