Description of the problem	My father was driving down a side street he knew well, had only gone two blocks, and accelerated through an intersection,but instead of turning left, according to witnesses he accelerated through the stop sign and was broadsided on the driver's side. He was unable to tell us what happened as he suffered a head injury in the accident, as well as a broken collarbone and rib. The witnesses said that he never slowed down at all, and was going well above the speed limit. This was very atypical for my father, who drove very slowly and had never had a ticket in his life. We strongly suspect that the car accelerated out of control, and this is consistent with the eyewitness description.
