Description of the problem	I had just slowly turned right into a parking spot in a public parking garage and was coasting to the end of the spot when my car suddenly started to accelerate on its own. I hit the brake, but there was not enough time to stop the car before it crashed into a large concrete pillar at the end of the parking spot. There was extensive damage to the front bumper, grill and hood of the car. I immediately checked, but there weren't any objects around the accelerator pedal and the floor mats were in place. Toyota sent an inspector. The edr report is attached. Toyota said there were no problems with the brake or accelerator. They would not however answer my questions about the edr data, and specifically how, if the car was not accelerating on its own, i could have been depressing the accelerator pedal, and while the accelerator remained depressed, simultaneously depressed the brake pedal as the edr data showed. Note that my car was up-to-date with all recalls when the incident happened.
