The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer for repairs under nhtsa campaign id number: 10v017000 (vehicle speed control, accelerator pedal). The contact stated that the accelerator pedal was cut and the edges of the pedal were jagged and rough. The dealer also removed a portion of the carpet and insulation. The contact did not believe the vehicle was any safer than prior to the repair. He stated also that the accelerator pedal would depress much farther than designed and was damaging the linkage to the pedal. The dealer stated that they performed the work as listed on the recall notice and that it was a sufficient repair. The vin was not available. The current and failure mileage was 65,000. |
