Description of the problem	My car had been making a noise at low speeds; i thought it was a transmission matter due to age and wear and tear but a toyota garage informed me i need a new steering shaft. An online search showed other people with similar problems on the 2007 camry. This is my 13th automobile in my lifetime and it is the first on which a steering shaft has failed, although i have driven some of the other cars much farther. My previous toyota went 300,000 miles and never had such a problem. The estimated cost to fix the steering shaft is $540; i believe toyota should provide a recall and fix it for free.
