Description of the problem	For two years now, the "check vsc" light will come on intermittently. It has happened both when i am in motion as well as stationary. At that time, several other lights on the cluster such as the abs light will come on. The brakes become very sluggish but i can ultimately stop the car. The warning lights will eventually go out, usually after i turn off the car and restart it. Once the warning lights are off, the brakes work normally. The brakes are now making a barking sound when depressed. My mechanic says i need a new abs system which will cost thousands of dollars.
