| Description of the problem | While driving my 2007 toyota camry and exiting off the interstate, i attempted to stop at the bottom of the ramp before turning onto the highway. The brakes were applied but car never came to a complete stop which forced me to enter onto the highway without regard to oncoming traffic. Luckily the right lane was clear and i was able to avoid an accident. The car was taken to the garage that day so they could work on it the next day. The problem was diagnosed as a bad brake booster which would need to be replaced at a cost of approximately $600. The brake failure happened with no warning. The only thing i ever noticed prior to this happening was that sometimes there would be a swooshing sound on the drivers side. |
