Description of the problem	Tl* the contact owns a 2007 toyota camry. While driving uphill with the cruise control engaged at approximately 60 mph, the cruise control failed to disengage when the brake pedal was depressed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who determined that the transmission failed and needed replacement. The vehicle was repaired. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and case number: 1803150976 was opened. The approximate failure mileage was 136,000. tt consumer stated the cruise control requested power, electronic failure between cruise, engine and transmission, causing engine rpm to accelerate with no power from transmission. I hit brake pedal to keep engine from being damaged. Few seconds later transmission thumped/clunked. Transmission damaged from that point.
