Description of the problemNeed to accelerate at a lane merge on the free way. In response to pushing on the accelerator pedal, the car failed to respond (hesitated and took several repeated attempts to increase the speed)..... Failure to quickly accelerate without hesitation can result in death on the free highway! Dealer was responsive..(recalibrate ecu engine and transmission - "aper tsb# eg056-06) and was told: "condition is much better now but there will always be some hesitation.... It's normal". Hesitation condition improved slightly..... But the defect is still there (accelerates well at lower speeds but at speaks of 35 and above... If you suddenly need to accelerate more to avoid a dangerous situation...... The car does not respond!). Jan 3rd, 2007; i went to a different dealer and test driven a camry le (same as the one i own) and found out it got the same defect. *nm
