Description of the problem	While pulling into a parking lot on an incline the vehicle hesitated (did not accelerate) for 1-2 seconds while in the path of crossing traffic before lurching and accelerating into the parking lot at too high of speed. The hesitation and lurching occurred as the vehicle seemed to be searching for the right gear. This is becoming a more and more common occurrence during city driving (i. E. Less than 40 mph). Vehicle dealership tried to adjust this issue via software download over a month ago.(tsb eg056-06 recalibrate ecm) the technician said this download might solve the problem. Since then the problem has become more common than before at low speeds, but less frequent at higher speeds. They acknowledged that this is a common problem with all 2007 4 cyl vehicles with ect, but no official fix has come from toyota. I have been having problems like this with the vehicle since purchase in march of 2006. The dealership and toyota have been notified numerous times about this issue and no resolution yet. My concern is that during winter the hesitation and/or lurching will contribute to a loss of control of the vehicle on snow or ice. *jb
