Description of the problem	My car makes a thumping noise when the gas tank is full. It occurs when you take off from a stopped position and it sounds like a thump coming from the rear of the car. I fear that this may be a defect in the way the gas tank is secured and that the thump may indicate that the gas tank moves due to the weight of the gas. Toyota claims that the thump is a normal sound and it comes from the gas hitting the inside of the gas tank and that this is a normal characteristic of the car. I don't believe this to be true and fear that this may be a hazardous situation. *jb
