| Description of the problem | While driving, i had to make an emergency stop. After stopping quick, the engine oil light turned on for about 5 seconds. I checked the oil and found it to be 2. 5 quarts low. My last oil change was less than 2500 miles ago. Excessive engine oil consumption is causing a low oil light and possible engine failure. This is a known problem and updated parts are available, but due to my vehicle being over 10 years old, the manufacturer will not honor the warranty extension for this problem. |
