| Description of the problem | Our 2007 toyota camry has been burning more oil than manual specifies. We began to check oil level once a week, due to low amount of oil. In september, 2013, we had blue smoke coming from the car. When we checked with mechanic, he asked if 4 cyl or 6 cyl. He had done so many repairs on this make/model/yr, he could diagnose the problem over the phone. He had to replace the valve seals on the engine, at a cost of $1400. I wrote to toyota corp with no luck in getting reimbursement. I believe safety is an issue with this vehicle, due to oil shortage. |
